You have decided to have your dream wedding in Porto – first of all congratulations on your fantastic decision, but now comes the difficult bit. There are now 101 decisions that you will have to make: venue, guest numbers, accommodation, menus, music, decoration, hair and makeup, ceremony, flowers etc etc. It may feel like it never ends and to top it all, you have to make these decisions for such an important occassion in a country that you may not know very well, dealing with any number of vendors who you certainly don’t know all in a culture that is no doubt completely different to your own?

If you are going to largely organise the wedding yourself and not rely on a wedding planner to do most of the heavy lifting for you, then everything could go well, or one of the many suppliers involved in your wedding could let you down. We immediately start to feel anxious when our clients bring along their own suppliers, particularly if it is someone that they have found online and have no personal experience with. The point is that there are a lot of wedding vendors here in Portugal who are perhaps not used to the high standards that may be common in richer countries whether it be in terms of timeliness, quality or just general professionalism. If things start to go wrong with a vendor, typically the only person you will have to help you to make things right will be your wedding planner!

Of course it will always be up to our clients who they want to use for their flower arrangements or live music and we will do everything we can to facilitate their choice. You can imagine that we feel so much more comfortable when we are dealing with the same suppliers we have been using for years, who understand the way we work and the standards we expect.
